Last thursday, february 21st, the Faculty of Engineering of Mondragon University organized a Research Day for its graduate students. This is an opportunity for the Faculty to show-case the kind of research that is going on at Mondragon Unibertsitatea. It is also an excellent opportunity for graduate students to have first hand information about the research experience of our postgraduate students.
Regarding research on ICT, the event was attended by 36 graduate students, not only from computer science or telecommunications but also some electrical engineering students and embedded system master students.
First they have a short presentation about the meaning of being a researcher, the impactions of this kind of life, and the kind of job you can have with a PhD. Mondragon Unibertsitatea delivers telecommunications engineering and computer science research and applies it to real-world problems. A collaborative research model is the basis of our research system. Collaborative research with the three key agents of the knowledge triangle: universities, research centers and industrial companies, makes it posible to link industrial driven research to education in engineering domains. As a multidisciplinary engineering school, our researchers work with other disciplines such as mechanical or electrical engineers in order to face broader challenges.
In addition to the presentations given, there was also a guided visit to the embedded system lab, the information system lab and also the artificial vision lab. Grad students had the opportunity to talk with the postgraduate students and researches about their research interests and see some results, demos and tools.
So, would you like to get a research position at Mondragon University in the future?
